Barrow-in-Furness WorkWell Launch

The Bay Anchor Network has identified ‘Working Well’ as a key priority within it’s Widening Access to Quality Work domain. Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB and Westmorland and Furness Council are partnering with Cumbria Health to pilot a new ‘WorkWell’ service.
WorkWell is a light touch, early-intervention service available to anyone aged 16 plus, working in Barrow with a disability or health condition who:
- needs support to remain in work,
- needs support managing a disability or health condition in order to return to work from a sickness absence lasting 4 weeks or more
or living in Barrow with a disability or health condition who:
- needs support to start work and has been unemployed due to a disability or health condition for approximately 6 months or less
The new service aims to provide holistic help to address health related barriers to employment. For more information on referrals and how to get involved, please email workwell@cumbriahealth.nhs.uk. Launching January 2025.
