Decarbonising health and social care

The £25m funding call to decarbonise the health and social care system from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is now open.
This cross programme funding opportunity is part of NIHR’s commitment to help the health and social care system become more sustainable and reach net zero status. Co-production of research proposals with charities, local authorities, third sector organisations and other relevant stakeholders is strongly encouraged.
NIHR are now welcoming applications for both:
- new primary research studies to establish the effectiveness of new, promising, or existing interventions, and
- evidence synthesis to support the translation of effective interventions into policy and practice.
There will be £25 million of funding available across five years, and NIHR anticipate that a range of projects in size and scope will be commissioned where possible.
